Carter and Hannah
June 24, 2017 - Wye Island NRMA
OUR STORY
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Just kidding. (Nice try, Carter)
Who would’ve thought an evening of pizza, chicken wings, and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (on cable) seven years ago, would’ve led to this! Don’t worry, she’s a huge Harry Potter fan and he’s actually very good at planning dates. Carter and Hannah initially met the year before this fated first date, introduced by mutual friends. And by mutual friends I mean Carter’s ex-roommate and Hannah’s ex-boyfriend who happened to be one and the same person, because life is funny that way. But, over the course of that year Carter moved out and Hannah moved on. After that seemingly innocuous first date (“For the record, I didn’t know it was actually a date until he kissed me”-Hannah) the two dated off and on through the following summer before deciding to give a relationship a try. Five years, five jobs, 3 car accidents, a puppy, three rental homes, and a home ownership later, Carter (who I mentioned before is very good at planning) and Hannah went on possibly the best vacation ever to Costa Rica. There, on the candle lit, rose pedal strewn, hermit crab infested beach, Carter - almost - proposed. Instead, being the smart man that he is, he waited until they returned to their cabana with the remainder of the champagne and let Hannah choose the movie. About ten minutes into “Begin Again” starring Mark Ruffalo and Kiera Knightly, Carter reached into his nightstand, turned around and said “This has been burning a hole in my pocket since we got here. I know its been a long time coming, but Hannah, will you marry me?”
And what did she say you ask?
Well obviously she said yes, but before that:
"Are you serious right now?"
He was serious, she said yes, and when they returned home they adopted another dog.
And now they’re hoping you’ll join them in celebrating their first steps into this next chapter in their lives!
